Upon ingestion, this syrup gets metabolized in liver with help of CYP3A4 enzymes with elimination half life of about 8.6 hours. Active compound cyproheptadine present in this medicine has molecular formula C21H21N with molar mass of 287.398 g/mol. Cyproheptadine Syrup is also said to have anticholinergic and antidopaminergic properties and is said to be potent 5-HT2 receptors antagonist.
